Chris Iris - 42cm unique difference/ Chris Iris

I watched Chris Iris’s performance and could interview them after their show.

Chris and Iris have 42cm difference in height, and they performed leveraged that unique height difference in their performance.

The performance where Iris balanced on Chris’ hand was really impressive and amazed me.

During the interview I asked four questions.

First, I said that I checked your website, and I learned that you met at the school, but when did you start working together? Chris said they’ve already started in university. And they’ve been performing  already in 15 years.

Secondly, I asked that before you met, did you do any solo acting? Chris was in the circus. And Iris learned music, piano, dance etc.

Thirdly,  I asked that you have ever felt any difficulty working together? And Chris said “yes several times” but he said they trust each other very much. They share their time a lot like traveling, free time and other activities together.

Finally, I asked are there any differences between Shizuoka’s audiences and audiences in other countries? They said they’ve been too many countries, and each country has different audiences. Shizuoka’s audiences are very friendly, polite and warm. Also, Chris said they absolutely want to come to Daidogei World Cup again.

I’m glad I could ask them some questions, and I hope they will come to Daidogei World Cup again someday.

Vielen Danke. Ich wünsche Ihnen alles Gute!!!  (Thank you very much. I wish you all the best!!! )

Fenja Barteldres like a lovely fairy/Fenja Barteldres

I watched Fenja Barteldres’ performance this morning. And before the show I was able to interview her.

In the interview, I asked three questions.

1. "What made you start using a cyr wheel?"  *cyr wheel is the thing that she uses during her show

She said, she started using it when she was 13 years old. First, she did other things, but she found that the cyr wheel was her thing because other performances always stay in the same place but with a cyr wheel she can go around the stage.

2. "Do you enjoy performing or feel it’s dangerous?"

She answered for sure she feels it’s dangerous especially when she performs in new places and stages.

3. "Until when do you want to keep doing this job?"

She told me for a couple of years. And she has planned her show in 2028 so she will do it until then at least.

At the last part of the interview, even though my German isn’t really good, she chatted with me in German a little bit. I really appreciate her kindness.

After the interview I watched her performance and it was really fresh for me.

The way she used the cyr wheel made me feel as if it were actually alive and I was really surprised. When she was turning around with the cyr wheel, she was like a fairy and really beautiful. The overall vibes of her whole show were really lovely. I’m really glad that I could watch her performance in Japan.

Dankeschön. Ich wünsche ihr viel Glück!!  (Thank you very much. I wish her good luck!!)
