Singing in the rain/Theatre De La Toupine

Huge mushrooms appeared suddenly on the rainy street――what are they? They are Theatre De La Toupine from France.

This time Cecile Corsalan and Sebastien Gerlier came to Japan, but in fact, they belong to a big theater group having about 50 members.
They are living near the Alps, so they said, "it has been snowing already. Here, you have Mt.Fuji so we have intimate feelings with people in Shizuoka."

Now, let's have a look at their performance. Their bodies are so funny.They make strange noises with pushing and hitting their bodies. Despite of sudden rain, they were singing and dancing merrily.They caught up the passengers and danced together on the street.
Seeing the comical mushrooms, everyone smiles and laughs.2 mushrooms turned depressive rainy day into the fantastic one.

"Shizuoka is a nice town.Japanese people are kind,"they said."Food is good,too."

Champion is back/Nino Costrini

2007 champion Nino Costrini came back to Shizuoka as a guest.
His comical and energetic performance never let you look away.
Unfortunatelly, his today's outsisde performance in the afternoon has cancelled because of the rain.



Here's his message for his fans in Shizuoka.
"I always perform the best, whether I'm in the competition or not.
I want the audience to laugh and love my show. It's very nice to perform here in Shizuoka with good supports and performers.
I wish this festival will continue from now on."

Ryo Yabe came back from Canada for Shizuoka, and audience! / Ryo Yabe

Ryo Yabe has never been absent Daidogei World Cup in Shizuoka.
This year he perfoms in Canada mainly, but he came to Shizuoka as usual !

As the today's wind was so strong, he said "it may be impossible to perform perfectely" But you know, who is Ryo Yabe. From ball juggling to free tricks with 3 diablos, his performance easily charmed audiences. He said "that's good, under this situation but" It's obviously better than he said.
Of course most of the audience who envied his autograph made the queue.
And some children asked him to write down on their own diablo.

This year he opened his special diablo shop for this event where many children trying diablo.
"In Japan, juggling act is not so popular now." he said.
He dreams of pumping up the show business, and making juggling act more popular in Japan.
Someday you may find some successors of Ryo among these children. (Nagapong)

"KENDAMA" specialist YUSUKE ITO

Yusuke Ito shows us a performance with cup and ball.
Surprisingly, he awarded a Japan's Kendama champion ten times!!
Kendama is well known in Japan. Almost all the Japanese have known
and played Kendama.
He performs KENDAMA with a music by traditional Japanese musical
instrument. There is full of Japanese atmosphere around him.
He says, "The audience in shizuoka has high expectations so I have to perform with my best.
